First, log in to elevio, then click ‘Visualiser’ in the left hand panel. Paste the URL of the site you want to add contextual tips to and hit ‘Launch’ to get started.
Next, highlight the exact element of your page where you would like to add a contextual tip. This will open the visualiser sidebar which you can use to set element restrictions. Perhaps you want that exact line of text only to have a tip, perhaps you want the tip to feature around that text wherever it appears. It’s up to you.
Once you’ve done that, you can select an existing article to appear as your tip or create a new one. If you create a new article it will be saved to your articles page and restricted so that it cannot be found unless a user clicks on the contextual.
One you’ve selected the what and where, it’s time to do the how. Select what you want the button to look like or if you just want to underline the text and select what your article will look like when it appears. After that’s done, hit save and refresh your page to see your handiwork in action.
